In this sequel, Dr Phibes (Vincent Price) comes back from the dead so that he can find eternal life in Egypt with his dead wife (Caroline Munro). He has a rival in Jarrus Biederbeck (Robert Quarry) and both men seek out the river of life. When Biederbeck crosses a line, Phibes kills off his team with a series of clever deaths. Inspector Trout (Peter Jeffrey) is on his trail again. In the end one man will have to trade eternal life for the woman he loves. 
The story of each character is told throughout the reverse of the cards.
